Melbourne, FL

April 12,2008, our third day on the road!
We are still in Melbourne, FL at Wickham County Park. Today Kay took Jane to a meeting of WWII Waves where Jane gave a talk about her time in the service. Kay says that the talk was great and that Jane sold nine of her books. Frank stayed home and worked on the blog. It is a slow process when adding pictures to the blog or so he says. Later we went shopping in a Wal-Mart neighborhood store, which turned out to be a Wal-Mart grocery store only. One of the associates told us that this was the latest fad with Wal-Mart as they can place them right among other grocery stores. The prices seem a little higher than those at Supercenters, but not much higher.

April 13, 2008, our fourth day on the road!
We are still in Melbourne, Fl at Wickham County Park. Today we joined Jane and drove to Mass. After Mass we had coffee and donuts before returning to the Baker home for a short visit. Then it was off to Wal-Mart for our final shopping tour in Melbourne. Kay found a cute outfit and Frank compared prices vs. prices at the neighborhood store. He found them to be equal, seems prices had gone up, just like diesel prices. Once we finished the shopping tour we went back to the campground where Frank did some maintenance chores after eating lunch. When Frank had finished he joined Kay for a pleasant walk around the park. Kay noted how busy the park was as it is city park with camping. It has swimming, walking, jogging, and playing golf with Frisbees and many other activities, which are happening before our eyes. After the walk we went to the Bakers for a Chinese dinner. After dinner it photo op time and a trip home noting that it had gotten cool. We turned on the heat and got ready for bed as we will be leaving the park early in the morning, or so Frank believes.

April 14, 2008, our fifth day on the road!
It’s a moving day. We awoke, ate and tore down the campsite in order to get on the road early (9:20AM). It was a pleasant drive to Kingsland, GA; it seems that waiting this late to start home is a good idea because the traffic was not on the road. We stopped at most the rest stops so Kay could check out the rest rooms in order to add to her rating system. Frank just uses them! We arrived at King George’s RV resort five hours later and setup the campsite, as we will not leave until April 16th.
April 15, 2008, our sixth day on the road!
We are parked in King George’s RV Park, Kingsland, GA. We awoke to 40 degrees outside with a high of 63 degrees, which makes us wonder if we are going home too early. We took an early walk to the local connivance store and Frank noted he should have worn the hat with no holes for letting the air out as air was coming in.

Frank spent the day reading while Kay did rug hooking. In the evening once it had gotten warmer we went on a walk around the Resort. The resort is two rows of RV’s parked with a clubhouse and a pool. No one was swimming. Behind the resort is a new development that has all the roads in as well as all the utilities. Palms are planted and street signs are erected. It is our understanding that whole development is for sale as is. Just another sign of the housing slump. We walked through the development to the front road where we saw the completed sign with the name of the development on it.

On the trip back Kay diverted our path into the woods where we discovered a long dock that is part of the development. Someone had removed a board from a gate that had closed the dock so Frank climbed through. Kay allowed that she was going to wait as Frank walked to the end of the dock. When Frank got to the end and started down a gangplank it was too much for Kay’s curiosity so she climbed through. Kay wondered were the birds were as she walked along the dock to join Frank on a small float at the end of the dock.
After climbing back through the gate we headed home for dinner and sleep for next day’s trip to Yemassee, SC
